Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the house of Shri Biswarup Chakraborty (tenant) in the compound of Smti H. Kharsandy, near Shillong Guest House, Howell Road, Laban, Flat A-2, Sutnga Apartment, Streamlet Road, Laban, Flat of tenant Shri A. Chakraborty (second floor) of the building of Smti J. Malngiang, Harisabha, Laban and in the house of Shri M. Paudel, Lawsohtun Block 5 which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 19th October, 2020 has declared the above mentioned locations and house as micro containment areas with effect from 19th October, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
The order states that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their home.
The Incident Commander, Zone-II shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders.
Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Managemen 2005 and IPC.
