Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the Building-A of Mrs. Evarie L. Lamare, Central Bishnupur near Benz Residency, in the houses of Shri Kaustav Paul, Laban Howell Road and (Late) Smti H. N. Lyngwa, “Happy Cottage”, Assam Club Lane, Laban and in the house of Smti B. Mylliemngap, Lawsohtun Block 6 which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 18th November, 2020 has declared the above mentioned building and houses as micro containment areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site with effect from 18th November, 2020.
The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their home.
The Incident Commander, Zone – II, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders.
Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
