The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has informed that the office has been actively carrying out drives against illicit liquor and has conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of November 2020, the excise staff detected 26 cases with a seizure of 306.575 litres of i/d liquor and 6.370 litres IMFL sized. In this connection 18 person have been arrested under Excise Act and the cases are under investigation/prosecution.
