With regards to the extremely sad and barbaric incident which happened at St. Xavier’s Girls’ hostel in Umoid, South West Khasi Hills, it has projected a very poor image of the state of affairs.
This act is nothing but a show of cowardice by a group of individuals who try to prove their valor by harming, hurting and even taking the lives of the innocent.
The cuprit should be booked immediately and justice be delivered to the victims. Such acts and people should not be tolerated by our or any other civil society.
This act projects the people and the state in very poor light and tarnishes its image as a tourist friendly state. The people who carried out this dastardly act should be apprehended and law should take its appropriate course of action.
I would also like to request the state Government to help the victims and also provide compensation to the family of the deceased. Thus I request all stakeholders through your medium to appeal for peace and communal harmony and not portray the image of the state in wrong light.
