Hon’ble MLA, Shri Sanbor Shullai on 20th December,202L called upon the officials of National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) of India and the Shillong Cantonment Board at jhalupara Community Hall to discuss the widening options of road at Jhalupara by the Authorities concern.
The meeting was attended by the General Manager NHIDCL, Senior Engineer of Shillong Cantonment Board, Chief Engineer PWD, Executive Engineer PWD (Roads) and various organizations of Shillong Cantonment area including Shillong Cantonment Lease Holders Association, Village Council and Welfare OrgatizaLions. During the meeting, National Highway Authorities assured that no residents of Shillong Cantonment Area will suffer due to the
construction nor any land or house will be dismantled on the civilian side of the Shillong Cantonment Area. The alignment which was done earlier will continue and the Highway Authorities will ensu-re that traffic congestion in entire Shillong Cantonment area in particular and Shillong City in general will be managed under the ongoing project.
