In different operations, conducted on Feb’ 20, 2024, alert troops of BSF Meghalaya successfully foiled illegal smuggling attempts along the International border, confiscated Phensedyl and Sugar which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.

Acting on specific tip-off, the vigilant troops of 172 Bn BSF Meghalaya seized 200 bottles of Phensedyl cough syrup while being smuggled to Bangladesh through the International border of East Jaintia Hills Meghalaya.

In another operation, conducted by vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya, three Indian nationals were apprehended along with over 6,800 Kgs of sugar seized from different bordering districts of Meghalaya. The confiscated Phensedyl and sugar were handed over to the respective Customs office and police station for further necessary legal action.
