In its continued drive against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/ beer/wine etc., the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts wherein during the month of December, 2023, the Excise staff detected 12 cases with a seizure of 262.300 litres of i/d liquor and 6.240 litres IMFL. In this connection, 8 persons have been arrested under the Excise Act.
