To promote awareness on preserving the nature, identify the problems related to environment and take corrective measures. BSF Meghalaya observed ‘World Environment Day’ on 05 June 2024 with the theme “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”

Troops of BSF Meghalaya took pledge to make all possible changes in their daily life to protect the environment and motivate others on the importance of environmental friendly habits. An awareness rally and various Plantation drives were carried out by BSF in different BOPs, BSF campuses and surrounding areas. Free saplings were also distributed by 172 Bn to the public to highlight the importance of environmental protection. Villagers of bordering area were also educated on the issue of environmental changes. The students of BSF senior secondary school were second to none and participated in essay writing competitions, cleanliness drive to make school and its surrounding area plastic and litter free.
