On 17th July 2024, a coordination meeting of all agencies regarding issues related to border management on the International Border was held at BOP Ghumaghat. The meeting was chaired by Shri T. Lyngwa, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including:
Smuggling of sugar and other items, and the efforts by all agencies to curb these activities
Functioning issues of the Border Haat
Development of infrastructure at the Border Haat and repair of connecting roads on the border
Implementation of Section 144 CrPC along the International Border
All stakeholders assured their commitment to coordinate and cooperate to address and mitigate the issues related to border management effectively.
The meeting concluded on a positive note with a vote of thanks by the ADC, Ranikor, South West Khasi Hills District.
