William Carey University, Meghalaya organized the Swachhata Hi Seva program on October 1, 2024, as part of the SHS Campaign. The NSS Cell, Department of Social Work, and Department of Fashion collaborated with the Shillong Municipal Board for this event, held in the University Auditorium. Ms. Evamon Nongrum, Community Organiser from the Shillong Municipal Board, served as a resource person, joined by the Solid Waste Management team as special guests. Over 20 staff members from the Shillong Municipal Board attended to support the event.
The program featured a fashion show competition themed “Waste to Art,” with cash prizes sponsored by the Shillong Municipal Board. Students from the Department of Social Work presented a play, while Fashion students showcased their creative works on the same theme. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from dignitaries, faculty, staff, and students.
Additionally, the NSS Cell and Shillong Municipal Board have conducted a series of cleanliness drives in the city as part of the campaign.
