Facing challenges in the healthcare sector, the HANM West Khasi Hills District met with the Minister of Health, Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, on the 18th of March to submit a list of eight demands addressing the urgent needs of the Nongstoin Civil Hospital.

Following the meeting, the President of HANM West Khasi Hills District, Gabriel Sohlang, stated that the decision to meet with the minister was made after receiving numerous complaints from the public regarding the state of healthcare in the region. Before approaching the minister, they had initially met with the Medical Superintendent of West Khasi Hills, who advised them to bring their concerns to the attention of the government.
