In a well-coordinated joint operation, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya, in collaboration with the state police, successfully apprehended two Indian nationals along with a Tata Sumo near the international border in East Khasi Hills District.
Acting on specific intelligence, the alert troops of the 110 Bn, along with the state police, intercepted the vehicle at Ichamati T-Junction and apprehended two Indian nationals along with a vehicle loaded with contraband items near the international border. The individuals were attempting to smuggle the items across the border. Upon questioning, the driver failed to provide an invoice or any valid documents for the consignment.
The apprehended individuals, along with the seized vehicle, have been handed over to the Customs Office in Shella for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.
