On March 29, 2025, troops of 110 Bn BSF, Meghalaya, foiled cattle smuggling attempts by apprehending four Indian nationals along with three vehicles loaded with 13 cattle near the international border of Meghalaya. The cattle were intended to be smuggled into Bangladesh through the bordering area of the East Khasi Hills district. Upon questioning the apprehended individuals failed to justify the possession of the cattle.
In another operation based on specific info, on 29th March 2025, troops of 172 Bn BSF apprehended one Bangladeshi intruder namely Shamsuddin, R/o- Vill- Sonatan Punji, PO- Suraighat Bazar, PS- Kanaighat, Dist- Sylhet in the bordering area of East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya while trying to infiltrate into Indian territory.
The apprehended Indian drivers along with cattle, seized vehicles and the BD national were handed over to concerned Police stations for further investigation and necessary legal action.
