Acting on specific intelligence, troops of BSF Meghalaya, carried out various operations on 08 April 2025 along the India-Bangladesh international border.
During these operations, BSF troops successfully seized 36 cattle and a huge quantity of contraband items including sugar, cosmetics, and other prohibited goods, worth Rs 16,98000/- being smuggled across the border. These operations were conducted in different sectors under the Meghalaya Frontier. The seized items have been handed over to the concerned customs and police authorities for further legal action.
In a separate operation, alert BSF troops apprehended one Bangladeshi national who had illegally crossed the international boundary in South Garo Hills. The individual was taken into custody under PS – Baghmara for further necessary legal action. The alert troops of BSF have again shown their commitment towards zero tolerance against infiltration.
BSF Meghalaya remains committed to securing the international border and preventing all forms of illegal cross-border activities. These successful seizures highlight the ongoing vigilance and coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal activities along the International border.
