Three days state mourning will be observed in the State of Meghalaya as a mark of respect to the passing away of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Supreme Pontiff of the Holy See,  in the following manner:

1) Two days state mourning on 22.4.2025 and 23.4.2025.

2) One day state mourning on the day of the funeral (the date of the funeral to be informed separately)

During the period of state mourning, the National Flag will be flown at half mast throughout the State where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment.
