Upon receipt of information that heavy loaded vehicles carrying loads more than nine tons are plying through Mawmaram-Nongthliew-Mawmih-Mawlyndep Road which has led to damage to portions of the road and poses danger and threat to villagers/pedestrians due to the narrow width of the road, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has promulgated an Order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) prohibiting plying of heavy loaded vehicles passing through the stretch of road falling under the jurisdiction of East Khasi Hills District.

Anybody who violates this Order shall be prosecuted under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

This Order comes into force with immediate effect and remains in force till further orders.
