The Public Relations Officer, NEIGRIHMS has informed that Shri. Shanta Bahadur (70 years) expired in NEIGRIHMS, Shillong on 6th February, 2025 and his body is kept in the mortuary of the Department of Forensic Medicine. The relatives of the deceased have repeatedly been requested to take possession of the body. No relative or person(s) known to him have come forward to claim the dead body till date.
Hence, the competent authority, NEIGRIHMS is hereby informing all concerned to claim the body within 48 hours of publishing this notice, failing which the body shall be utilized for academic purposes as per Meghalaya Anatomical Act 2017 without further notice. To claim the body, relatives are to contact Dr. Daunipaia Slong, Additional Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine, NEIGRIHMS at 9863957224 or visit the mortuary of NEIGRIHMS.
