In a swift and intelligence-based series of operations, the BSF, Meghalaya successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle contraband goods near the Indo-Bangladesh international border.
Acting on specific tip-offs, alert troops of the 4th Battalion BSF detected suspicious movements during routine vigilance in the East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts near the international border. Promptly launching search operations, BSF personnel intercepted a vehicle. Carrying, a large quantity of contraband items worth more than ₹37 lakhs and apprehended two persons. The apprehended persons could not produce any valid documents.
The apprehended individuals and the seized goods have been handed over to the concerned police authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
