As part of the observance of the National Sports Day 2025, under the theme “ Ek Ghanta Khel Ke Madan Mein” and as part to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Eastern West Khasi Hills District in collaboration with the District Sports Office, organized a 5 KM & 10 KM Marathon for both boys and girls in different age groups and a 15 KM Cycling competition on the morning of the 29th August. The event was held under the banner of the Fit India Movement and witnessed participation of children, youth both men and women from across the district. The event was flagged off by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri A.Nongbri, the event saw an overwhelming response, with hundred of participants actively participated in the Run and Cycling competition. Moreover, as a mark of recognition, the winners of Marathon and Cycling competition were awarded with certificate and a cash prize across different categories. The National Sports Day 2025 was also observed with great enthusiasm at Umsoit Ground, Kynshi, under Mawthadraishan C&RD Block, featuring a thrilling tug of war competition. The event was graced by the MDC of Mawthadraishan Constituency, Shri. Powell Sohkhlet, as the Chief Guest, in the presence of village executive of Kynshi, sports officials, teachers, and members of the public.
