The Government of Meghalaya, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), organized the inaugural workshop for developing a 5-Year Strategic Vision Document for the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) at the Shillong Club today. This initiative aims to enhance food security outcomes, promote equitable access to subsidized food grains, and tackle the distinct challenges faced by over 3 million residents, particularly those in tribal and hard-to-reach areas. The workshop was attended by the Honorable Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Shri Coming one Ymbon, Shri Pravin Bakshi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, FCS&CA, Smt. Saloni Verma, IAS, Director, FCS&CA, and other senior officers from various districts and departments. This collaborative effort underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the lives of its citizens, especially the most vulnerable populations.
