The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretariat has announced that Shri Timothy D. Shira, Hon’ble Member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, has tendered his resignation from the post of Deputy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly with effect from the forenoon of 8th September 2025.

The Hon’ble Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has accepted his resignation.

This development has been duly notified and circulated to all concerned authorities, including Hon’ble Members of the Assembly, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, Leader of Opposition, Chief Secretary, Governor’s Office, Election Commission, and other departments of the Government of Meghalaya.

The official notification has also been forwarded for publication in the Extraordinary Gazette.
