A Blood donation camp was organized by BSF Composite Hospital Shillong and BSF FTR HQ Meghalaya in collaboration with Blood Bank Deptt, NEIGRIHMS headed by Dr Mrs Lutika N Lyngdoh, Senior Medical Officer along with her team on 24 September, 2025 on the occasion of “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” and “National Voluntary Blood Donation Day”.

The camp was inaugurated by Sh Om Prakash Upadhyay, Inspector General. FTR HQ BSF, Shillong Meghalaya in presence of Sh Ratan Lal Bagaria, DIG (PSO), FTR HQ Meghalaya, Dr RC Bishariya, DIG (Med)/MS, CH BSF Shillong and other senior BSF officers. DIG(Med), welcomed the Chief Guest and delivered the introductory talk which was followed by motivational speech by Sh Om Prakash Upadhyay, Inspector General to the BSF volunteers gathered for blood donation. He emphasized the importance of blood donation. He also discussed how blood donation can bridge the gaps between people from different areas and societies. Dr Mrs Lutika N Lyngdoh, administered the oath to BSF Officials for blood donation and to spread awareness on the blood donation in the society.

More than 100 serving personnel of BSF including Senior Officers donated the blood, officers from Ftr HQ Meghalaya Shri Rajiv Kumar, Commandant, Sh Satya Dev Yadav, LO Gde-II/DC, Sh Deepak Bamoriya, DC (Comn), Sh Harsh Goyal, DC (AIA), Sh Sandeep Singh Jamwal, AC (Law) and from CH BSF Meghalaya Dr Manish Kumar Singh, Comdt/CMO(SG) and DR Sunil Kumar, 2IC/CMO along with Subordinate Officer all ranks including the serving female staff of BSF donated blood with great enthusiasm as a moral gesture towards the society for saving the lives of citizens. By this camp the border men have exhibited that they are ready to save the lives of citizens of India not only by guarding the border but also by donating the blood.
