Hindi Fortnight was observed from 14th September to 29th September 2025 at National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office, Shillong. During these two weeks the importance of Hindi language for official work was being highlighted and several programmes were organised namely Hindi essay competition, Hindi dictation, Hindi typing, Noting and Drafting, etc. In order to enable the officers and staff to work in Hindi for official purpose.The closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight was organised on Monday (29th September 2025) at the conference hall of National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office Shillong by Orenthung Patton (Deputy Director). He spoke at the event and highlighted that the National Statistics Office is actively engaged in collecting data that significantly contributes to the formulation of citizen-centric policies by both Central and State Governments. On this occasion Deputy Director NSO (FOD), Regional Office Shillong enlightened the participants, the use of Hindi in their official work. A quiz competition was organised on this occasion and the winners of the quiz competition were awarded mementos. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Prabhata Das, Assistant Director, National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office, Shillong.
