A Step AHEAD towards Child Protection & Child Welfare – A Special Milestone Achieved. Children’s Day celebration with less-privileged children in villages and slums marks an important step toward child protection and welfare. This milestone reflects our commitment to ensuring that every child enjoys their rights, lives a meaningful childhood, and has a platform to express their voices.
Through these efforts, children are not only participating actively but also taking on roles as vigilance ambassadors, helping to prevent and protect their peers from any form of exploitation. This celebration stands as a testament to the progress made toward safeguarding children and empowering them to thrive.

Today marks the first day of Child Safety Week, bringing together hundreds of children and empowering them with essential knowledge on child rights and their vital roles within the community—towards their families, peers, schools, and the nation. A holistic approach was adopted, resulting in outstanding participation and positive feedback from both the children and the community.

This week-long programme sets the foundation for continuous engagement. Follow-up activities will be conducted throughout the year, prioritizing the prevention and protection of children from any form of abuse or exploitation. Our commitment remains steadfast in upholding every child’s safety, dignity, and rights.

The programme is conducted at various vulnerable areas in East Khasi Hills District and Ri-Bhoi District with massive participation from all concerned.
