15 National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS)-certified health facilities were awarded for upholding high standards of quality care at the first Awards-cum-advance Christmas celebration hosted by the Joint Directorate of Health Services, Meghalaya at the Ratson Pavilion on December 9, 2025.
Additionally, five special awards were presented for outstanding accomplishments under LaQshya, MusQan, and NABL Certification.
Speaking at the event, Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla commended the dedication and commitment of healthcare teams across the state.
“The government is dedicated to ensuring that quality healthcare becomes accessible and affordable to every citizen,” he said.
“I call for continued cooperation, sincerity, and collective effort from the entire health fraternity to achieve this goal.”
Commissioner & Secretary in-charge Health & Family Welfare Dr. Joram Beda, and Mission Director, NHM Ramakrishna Chitturi, also graced the occasion, highlighting the importance of quality healthcare and the government’s commitment to achieving this goal.
The event was attended by senior state and district health officials, joint directors, state nodal officers, medical superintendents, medical officers, programme consultants, and staff from various health institutions across the state.
The JDQC has made significant strides since its inception in January 2023, evolving into a strong platform promoting quality assurance, accountability, and continuous improvement in public healthcare delivery.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of dedication and commitment to strengthening Meghalaya’s healthcare system and continuing the journey towards excellence.
