Meghalaya : The Meghalaya Cabinet has approved the expert committee report on the State Reservation Policy, which will be tabled during the ongoing Budget Session of the Assembly for discussion and consideration.
Announcing the decision after Monday’s Cabinet meeting, Cabinet Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said the proposal has been cleared for presentation before legislators.
“The cabinet has approved the proposal for consideration of the report… it will be tabled on Wednesday on the floor of the House,” Shylla said.
He declined to disclose details of the report before its official presentation in the Assembly.
“Until before that, I cannot say anything,” he added.
The report is expected to guide policy decisions related to reservation provisions in the state once it is formally placed before the House.
