SHILLONG : Meghalaya Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Sanbor Shullai on Wednesday expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will once again form the government in Assam.
Speaking on the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, Shullai stated that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to continue in office for another term.
“BJP will again retain power in Assam and Himanta Biswa Sarma ji will continue as Chief Minister. There is no doubt about it,” Shullai said.
Dismissing speculation of anti-incumbency against the ruling party, the BJP leader asserted that there is no such sentiment among the people of Assam.
“There is no anti-incumbency in Assam,” he added confidently.
Highlighting the massive turnout at BJP rallies, Shullai pointed out that public participation reflects strong grassroots support for the party.
“Wherever Himanta Biswa Sarma and leaders from Delhi are campaigning, lakhs and lakhs of people are attending the rallies. This clearly shows that people have already made up their minds to support the BJP,” he said.
The statement comes amid growing political activity ahead of the Assam Assembly elections, with parties intensifying their campaigns across the state.
