Shillong: Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Result 2026 on Monday, with students from Tura and Shillong dominating the top ranks across Science, Arts, and Commerce streams.
In the Science stream, Don Bosco College secured the top position through Dechro M Marak, who scored 472 marks. St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School students Amos Chinminlun (470) and Vishal Rai from Laban Bengalee Boy’s Higher Secondary School (464) followed in second and third positions respectively.
A total of 3,732 candidates appeared in Science across 70 centres, with 3,124 passing, resulting in a success rate of 83.70%. South West Garo Hills recorded a perfect 100% pass rate.
The Arts stream recorded the highest number of candidates and an impressive 88.63% pass percentage. Meghashree Roy of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School topped the stream with 457 marks. She was followed by Joziah Daman Laloo (452) and Nakisakahuni M Pakyntein (446) from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School.
Out of 23,559 candidates appearing across 113 centres in Arts, 20,882 passed. East Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills emerged as top-performing districts with 96.20%.
In the Commerce stream, Priya Ghosh from St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School topped with 458 marks. Ankita Das (453) and Rishika Debnath (452) from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School secured second and third positions.
Commerce recorded a pass percentage of 87.49%, with 2,155 out of 2,463 candidates clearing the exam across 58 centres. East Jaiñtia Hills topped district performance with 98.18%.
Meanwhile, vocational courses achieved a remarkable 95.23% pass rate, with 20 out of 21 candidates successfully clearing the examination.
