Shillong: Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) HSSLC 2026 Commerce topper Priya Ghosh from St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, has attributed her success to consistency, strong values, and the unwavering support of her family and teachers.
Ghosh, who secured 458 marks to top the Commerce stream, said her achievement was the result of sustained hard work. She emphasized that her journey was shaped not only by academics but also by moral values and ethics instilled by her parents, teachers, and her brother.
She specially acknowledged her brother Suman Das, who has guided her studies since Class IV, playing a crucial role in shaping who she is today. She also highlighted the support of her school, mentioning her class teacher for constant motivation during high-pressure moments and describing Sir Felix as a father figure who supported her from the very beginning.
Stressing the importance of a strong academic foundation, Ghosh said consistency from Class XI played a key role in her success. According to her, teachers who recognized her potential and continuously encouraged her were the backbone of her achievement.
Sharing advice for students, she urged them to follow their passion, give their best, and focus on becoming good human beings alongside academic success. She emphasized that helping others and maintaining good character are equally important in life.
On her future plans, Ghosh expressed interest in pursuing research in finance and possibly entering public service.
Speaking about social media, she noted that it can be a powerful learning tool if used wisely. However, she maintained strict discipline during her board exam preparation, avoiding social media entirely for two months to stay focused.
She concluded by advising students to maintain a balance between studies and life, encouraging them to enjoy the learning process while also valuing personal happiness
