SHILLONG : Dr DRL Nonglait has officially accepted the proposal from the National People’s Party (NPP) to contest as its candidate in the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha by-election 2026.
In a formal communication addressed to the party president, Dr Nonglait expressed heartfelt gratitude to the party leadership for placing their trust in him and offering him the opportunity to represent the party in the crucial parliamentary bypoll.
“After careful consideration, I am pleased to formally accept the proposal,” he stated, confirming his candidature for the election.
Reaffirming his commitment, Dr Nonglait assured that he would strictly adhere to the party’s ideology, vision, and collective decisions. He further emphasized his dedication to working tirelessly for the welfare and development of the people of Meghalaya and the nation.
Seeking continued support, he also called upon party leaders, workers, and well-wishers to extend their cooperation and guidance during the campaign. He added that he looks forward to carrying out the responsibility with sincerity and dedication.
