Shillong : Adarsh Singh, a Class X student of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt, has brought pride to both the school and Meghalaya by successfully participating in the prestigious YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA-2026) organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation at North Eastern Space Applications Centre from May 11 to May 22, 2026.
YUVIKA is a special initiative launched by ISRO to encourage young students towards space science, technology, innovation and research. During the programme, participants were introduced to various aspects of satellite technology, space applications, scientific innovation and ongoing research activities.
Adarsh Singh was also part of a project team that secured the 1st Prize for their presentation titled “Detection and Analysis of Earth’s Dynamic Movements Through the Eyes of Satellites.” The award-winning project highlighted how satellite technology can be used to monitor and analyse changes taking place on Earth.
The achievement reflects the growing interest and talent among students from the North East in the fields of science and technology. The school fraternity expressed happiness over the accomplishment and thanked ISRO and NESAC for providing such a valuable learning platform for young minds.
The success of Adarsh Singh is expected to inspire many students across Meghalaya and the region to pursue careers in science, innovation and space research.
