Shillong : Around 6,000 faithful from various parishes and oratory centres across Meghalaya gathered at the Sacred Heart Shrine, Mawlai, on Sunday to participate in the Annual Pilgrimage dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The day-long spiritual programme began with Eucharistic Adoration, followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist led by the Archbishop of Shillong, Most Rev. Victor Lyngdoh.
The afternoon session featured Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, animated by Mr. Kupar Shadap and Group. The faithful also received spiritual guidance through a reflection delivered by Fr. Raphael Maiong, SDB.
The pilgrimage concluded with a special blessing imparted by Fr. John Zosiama, SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Shillong.
The annual gathering brought together devotees from different parts of the state in a spirit of prayer, devotion, and unity, centred on the love and teachings of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Church leaders said the pilgrimage continues to serve as an important occasion for spiritual renewal and strengthening the faith of the Christian community in Meghalaya.
