NONGPOH : An auto-rickshaw driver was seriously injured in a road accident that occurred on Wednesday night at Surokbah along NH-6, opposite JIVA Restaurant at Umlyngkdait village.
According to eyewitnesses, the auto-rickshaw bearing registration number ML 10 B 6302, driven by Donbor Nongrum of Umskun, collided from behind with a pickup truck carrying bamboo, bearing registration number AS 25 B 0021.
The accident reportedly occurred at around 8:30 pm.
The auto-rickshaw driver sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for treatment.
Police personnel from the Nongpoh Traffic Branch promptly reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
