SHILLONG, OCT 13: The Meghalaya Unified Teachers Association (MUTA) on Tuesday met Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and urged the state government to include teachers under the Structured Pay Framework (SPF) in the upcoming Sixth State Pay Commission.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, MUTA president Aristotle Rymbai said the delegation highlighted the long-pending demands of SPF teachers.
“Our first demand is inclusion of Structured Pay teachers under the upcoming Sixth State Pay Commission. Our second demand is notification of service conditions for teachers under the Structured Pay Framework,” Rymbai said.
He added that other service-related concerns affecting teachers under the framework were also discussed during the meeting.
Describing the meeting as positive, Rymbai said the Chief Minister had assured the delegation that he would look into the matters raised.
He said the detailed outcome of the meeting would be shared with SPF teachers at a general meeting to be convened soon.
