On 24 April 2023, Vigilant troops of 193 Bn BSF Meghalaya nabbed two Indian ladies with Bangladeshi currency of value 90,000 Taka while entering Indian Territory illegally from Bangladesh.

Apprehended ladies revealed their identities as Primala Hajong and Rimi Bhadra who are residents of Village Betgora PS- Danger, Dist- East Khasi Hills. During questioning, both revealed that they entered Bangladesh through a porous/ unfenced border and received BD Taka from a prominent Bangladeshi smuggler namely Hamid. The seized Bangladeshi currency and apprehended ladies handed over to PS –Danger, East Khasi Hills for further Investigation and legal action.
