The Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Meghalaya has directed all factory owners in the State of Meghalaya to declare weekly holiday in their respective units on the date of poll on the 10th May, 2023 instead of first day of the week as provided under Section 52 of the Factories Act, 1948 to enable the voters of 23-Sohiong (ST) Constituency to exercise their franchise on the day of poll in connection to Bye Election 2023 to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, 2023.
