The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has been actively carrying out drives against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/Beer/Wine etc., and has conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts. During the month of February 2023, the Excise staff detected 61 cases with a seizure of 1850.900 litres of i/d liquor and 310.955 litres IMFL. In this connection, 36 persons have been arrested under Excise Act.
The cases are under investigation/prosecution.
