In alignment with the BSF Meghalaya’s commitment to the welfare of border communities, a Civic Action Programme (CAP) cum Free Medical Camp was successfully organized on March 21, 2024 at border villages Dangar and Nolikata in the East and South West Khasi Hills districts of Meghalaya. The event was graced with the presence of Sh Manoj Kumar Barnwal, DIG SHQ BSF Shillong and Sh. Rajiv Kumar, Comdt 193 Bn BSF.
The event witnessed the active participation of local headmen from nearby villages, the Medical Officer from PHC Dangar and approximately 650 local villagers from surrounding areas including students. This initiative aimed to provide much-needed healthcare services and community support to the residents of the bordering areas.
During the CAP, various essential items such as computers, water storage tanks, plastic chairs and tables, sports items, utensils etc. were distributed to the nearby villagers and school children. During the Free Medical Camp, Doctors from BSF conducted the medical check-up and free medicines were also distributed to the patients. Furthermore, a captivating cultural program was organized by the talented school children of Govt Upper Primary School Dangar.
The headmen and local villagers of the area expressed their appreciation for the noble effort of the BSF Meghalaya in providing essential items and Medical support to the needy border villagers.
