Legal Awareness Programme Cum Cleaning Drive on Environmental Laws organised by District Legal Services Authority, East Khasi Hills District, in collaboration with Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority and Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board was held today at Khohramhah under Sohra Civil Sub Division.

The resource persons for the programme are Miss B. Jyrwa, Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel/Nayaya Rakshak, Shillong speaking on the topic “Penalty and Procedure of Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1974) and Shri S. Syiem, Environmental Engineer, Meghalaya State Control Pollution Board, Shillong enlighten the Role of State Pollution Control Board under the Water (Prevention and Control Pollution Act, 1974).

            Others who spoke at the programme are Shri Redly Thabah, PLV, Shillong, Smt P. Nongrum, Advocate, Shillong Bar Association and Shri. Jerry Well War, Headman, Laittyra village.
