The ICFAI University Meghalaya in collaboration with the ICFAI Business School Case Research Center, Hyderabad, is organizing a Three Day Workshop on Case Writing and Teaching for Faculty Members, Research Scholars, Industry Practitioners and Corporate Trainers from July 22nd to 24th, 2025. The Workshop began with an Inaugural Session at the University’s Shillong Campus. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri. Himalaya M. Shangpliang, Retd. IAS, Former MLA and presently the Adviser, Education Department, Government of Meghalaya. Speaking at the Inaugural Session, Shri. Shangpliang congratulated The ICFAI University Meghalaya for raising the standard of education in the State of Meghalaya. He spoke at length on the contributions made by the University in making education accessible to all and the amount of research activities done by the University. While praising the University for being awarded as Best University in Meghalaya in the CCLA–Education Leadership Awards 2017 and 2nd Best Private Multidisciplinary University in Meghalaya for the year 2023-24 by Education World, Shri Shangpliang exhorted the University to start its Case Study Center in Shillong and urged the Faculty Members to help the Government in understanding the pros and cons of their education policies through the numerous cases that will be written by the Faculty Members of the University. He further stated that such an effort will help the Government to frame the policies in a more robust and fruitful way. Shri. Shangpliang also released a book entitled “Studies in Multidisciplinarity: Polarity, Axis and Praxis” edited by Dr. Surajit Sen, Associate Professor cum Controller of Examinations, The ICFAI University Meghalaya. Also present at the Inaugural Session were Dr. Alicia Gatphoh, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Indrani B. Bhuyan, the Registrar of the University, and the two Resources Persons from IBS Case Research Center, Shri. Jitesh Nair and Smti. Indu Perepu.
