The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar (SNSP) Abhiyaan campaign was observed today with specialised health camps held across Meghalaya. A camp at the local market in Diengpasoh, East Khasi Hills, was organised in collaboration with Diengpasoh PHC and attended by a team of specialists from NEIGRIHMS. The camp witnessed strong participation from beneficiaries, offering free medical health check ups, MHIS and PMJAY registration facilities alongside awareness sessions focusing on maternal and women’s health.
The team of specialists included Dr. Aldrich Lyngdoh, Medical and Health Officer In-charge, Diengpasoh PHC; and from NEIGRIHMS, Dr. Thoudam Reena Devi and Dr. Evakerlang S. Lynshing (Community Medicine), Dr. Charity Lamin (Paediatrics), Dr. Jaya (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Dr. Pynnarbhah Suting (Medicine), Dr. Oinam Somapika Devi (Ophthalmology), and Smt. Ophelia Mary Kharmujai (Public Health Nursing Officer).
Dr. Aldrich Lyngdoh, Medical and Health Officer In-charge, Diengpasoh PHC, said “This programme is to mobilise the village to attend and also to highlight the SNSP campaign and it is because of this programme we are able to conduct the health camp in collaboration with NEIGHRIMS. We have also reached out to community leaders, village headman to continue the awareness and to ensure maximum outreach and community participation.”
“The main aim of SNSP is to encourage women to undergo regular health check-ups. Today, we have pregnant women and young patients with menstrual health concerns receiving treatment,” said Dr. Evakerlang Smenficia Lynshing, Community medicine doctor from NEIGHRIMS.
Village representative Raymond Mawthoh expressed gratitude to the officials, stating, “This health camp is a blessing, not only for patients but for the community. Such camps remind people to care for their mental health too when the mind is strong, it is easier to focus on physical wellbeing. We thank the doctors from PHC Diengpasoh & NEIGRIHMS, and the media for spreading awareness.”
Similar SNSP Abhiyaan camps were also conducted at North Garo Hills district and West Garo Hills District, witnessing active participation from local communities.
