SHILLONG, JAN 16: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday announced that the Meghalaya government plans to table the report of the expert committee on the state reservation policy during the upcoming budget session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to reporters after chairing a cabinet meeting, Sangma said the cabinet has discussed various aspects of the reservation policy report and agreed that it would be appropriate to place it before the Assembly during the budget session proposed to be held from February 16 to 27.
“Based on the proposal for the budget session, the cabinet has also decided that the report of the expert committee on the state reservation policy will be placed during the session,” the Chief Minister said.
Sangma informed that the government has already proposed the dates for the budget session to the Governor and is awaiting formal approval.
“We have proposed the dates to the Governor and are waiting for the order to convene the sitting of the Assembly. Once approval is granted, the schedule will be formalised,” he added.
