The SVEEP Cell of the Office of the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District in collaboration with Meghalaya Model United Nations is launching the Flame of Democracy from today, the 14th February, 2023 from 17-North Shillong Assembly Constituency. The Flame, mounted on a Democracy Van shall be emitting its light all over the District, touring through all constituencies of East Khasi Hills.
The main aim is to disseminate awareness to voters through interactive means that combine music, dance and public participation so as to ensure a high voter turnout on the day of poll on 27th February, 2023.
The Democracy Van will travel through West Shillong, South Shillong and East Shillong AC on 15.2.2023, Mawsynram AC on 16.2.2023, Mawphlang AC and Sohiong AC on 17.2.2023, Shella AC and Sohra AC on 18.2.2023, Pynursla AC on 20.2.2023, Mylliem AC and Iew Smit on 21.2.2023, Nongkrem AC and Mawkynrew AC on 22.2.2023, Mawryngkneng AC on 23.2.2023, Nongthymmai AC and Umpling on 24.2.2023 and Nongmensong, Golflinks and Mawlai AC on 25.2.2023.
