The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has been actively carrying out drives against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/Beer/Wine etc and has conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts. During the month of December 2022, the Excise staff detected 41 cases with a seizure of 504.750 litres of i/d liquor and 214.343 litres IMFL. In this connection, 27 persons have been arrested under Excise Act.
The cases are under investigation/prosecution.
