The Shillong Referees’ Society, in collaboration with the Shillong Sports Association, conducted a three-day upgradation workshop and exams for football referees in the state.

The workshop began on 22 October and concluded today. The chief resource person was Joy Chandra Singh, Head of Referees (North East Zone) of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

A total of 48 referees – 16 female and 32 male – participated.

The objective of the workshop was to provide the referees with real-time knowledge and hands-on experience on how to supervise matches and to raise the standard of the game.
