Foiling the attempt of smugglers, BSF Meghalaya on 28 Jan 2023, seized clothing items (Sarees) worth rupees 22 lakhs from the bordering area of East Khasi Hills which were meant for smuggling to Bangladesh.

The vehicle loaded with consignment intercepted by troops of 04 Bn BSF in the village area of Pyrdwah. When BSF signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver fled towards the forest area leaving the vehicle in the middle of the road. BSF handed over seized items and vehicle to Customs Pynursla for further action.

BSF in 2022 seized clothing items worth more than Rs 1.2 crores along the International border.
