Vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya confiscated Fake Indian Currency Notes of face value Rs 55,000/- from the International Border of East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya.
During the night hours on 07 Feb’ 2023, troops of 172 Bn BSF detected some suspicious movement of miscreants coming from Bangladesh to India. Upon challenging, miscreants fled away to Bangladesh taking advantage of darkness, hilly terrain and thick vegetation. On searching the area BSF recovered a bag containing 105 Fake Indian currency notes in denomination of Rs 500. FIR is lodged at PS Umkiang and Fake Indian Currency also handed over to Police. The Fake Currency recovered is of very low grade, probably locally printed in Bangladesh.
