Based on the contact tracing status and testing of the high risk contacts and the reports received thereof and in supersession to orders issued on 4th November, 2020 and in exercise of the powers under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 13th November, 2020 has lifted the containment of the Flat of Smti B Hazarika (Tenant) in the First Floor of Building of Smti M Kharshiing, Howell Road, Laban and the residence of Mr. Well Malki at Malki, Kharmalki with effect from 13th November, 2020.
Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the house of Deemu Thabah at Jaiaw Shyiap Lumpyllon and in the residence of Edelbert Shullai at Kharmalki, Malki which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 13th November, 2020 has declared the above mentioned house and residence as micro containment areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site with effect from 13th November, 2020.
The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their home.
The concerned Incident Commanders shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders.Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
