In its continued drive against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/ beer/wine etc., the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts wherein during the month of April 2023, the Excise staff detected 16 cases with a seizure of 136.500 litres of i/d liquor and 24.550 litres IMFL. In this connection, 13 persons have been arrested under the Excise Act.
