NONGPOH : The Executive Dorbar of Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship, comprising representatives from seven Raids, adopted several key resolutions during a meeting held on Friday at Iing Dorbar Pahamsyiem, Nongpoh, aimed at maintaining peace and preventing disputes, particularly related to land and shnong administration, within the Elaka.
The meeting was attended by Raid leaders from all seven Raids under the Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship, namely Raid Nongkharai, Nongkhyllem, Nongpoh, Nongkhrah, Nonglyngdoh, Sohkwai and Raid Nongkyrla.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Bah Luistar Lyngdoh, Acting Sirdar of Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship, said the Executive Dorbar took an important decision regarding the registration of land with government offices. He stated that from now on, any individual intending to register land to establish ownership must first obtain verification and clearance from the Dorbar Shnong, Dorbar Raid, and the office of Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship.
Lyngdoh further informed that discussions were also held on the election of Rangbah Shnong in villages falling under the Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship. It was resolved that any shnong planning to conduct elections for new village leaders must first inform the Dorbar Raid, which in turn will notify the Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship, to ensure the election process is carried out smoothly and without any disputes.
In conclusion, through the Executive Dorbar, an appeal was made to all village leaders to extend full cooperation to the Dorbar Raid and the Elaka Nongpoh Sirdarship. It was emphasized that only through collective coordination and cooperation among Dorbar Shnong, Dorbar Raid and the Elaka can peace, order and overall welfare be maintained across villages and the Elaka as a whole.
